100 Movies and Counting...

TOO SCARY 2 WATCH now presents a list of some of the top "unknown" horror films of the 2000's (arranged by year) that we believe may be worth checking out, if you're interested in discovering new movies and you're looking for scary movies outside of the mainstream ones found in American theaters. The list (divided into two parts) is definitely a work in progress and will continue to be updated as we continue to find more movies that we feel are worthy of adding.

Unknown Films, Underrated Films, Low Budget Films, Independent Films and more...

... Okay, so what exactly is our definition of an "unknown" horror film? For the sake of clarity, when we say "unknown", we may be referring to any of the following things; independent, unpopular, underrated, low budget, B-Movie, foreign, straight to video, minimum theatrical release, film festival movie ... etc. It's also important to keep in mind that this post is written from the viewpoint of American horror cinema, which means that there may be movies on this list that were highly successful in other parts of the world, but are considered "unknown" films to most Americans.

It can be argued whether some of the movies on the list actually fit the bill (some of them have obtained cult status and may be a tad too popular for this list) ... nevertheless (with versatility in mind), we've included some that are definitely unknown horror films along with others that may be open for interpretation.

Disclaimer

Not all of the movies on the list, in our opinion, are actually good movies, but were chosen to be included for a variety of different reasons.

Thanks and enjoy!
